Rev. Dr. Clark Cowden

The Rev. Dr. Clark Cowden grew up in Cleveland and Cincinnati. When he was 15, his family moved to Terre Haute where he attended North High School. He attended Indiana State University for his freshman year and then graduated from Taylor University in Upland, IN in 1984. He received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA in 1988, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 2001.

 

Clark was involved with Campus Life at North High School and ran Campus Life clubs as a college student. He has served as a youth director at the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis from 1984-1986, as the associate pastor for the First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, IN, from 1988-1991, and as the pastor of the Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Walled Lake, MI, from 1991-1998. After that, Clark moved to California where he served as the Evangelist Presbyter for the Presbytery of San Joaquin in Visalia, CA, from 1998-2007. Before coming to Northside, he served as the Executive Presbyter for the Presbytery of San Diego from 2007-2015.    

 

Clark has been the speaker for a number of pastors’ conferences and has been coaching pastors through a missional pastor process. He also serves as a consultant with congregations. 

 

Clark enjoys running, tennis, golf, watching sports on TV, politics, reading, going to movies, and good puns.
